I can't tell you how excited Kaleb was for his birthday party. In fact, it was hilarious. Everywhere we went prior to his party, he informed any stranger who would listen "me birfday party." In the same fashion, he spent a week sharing with all strangers that he was 3! Love this little guy's zeal for life.
This year we had a backyard splash party with a side of Elmo. We had the party at our house so that our families and friends could see our new home. The kids were able to play in the back with a sprinkler, bounce house, slip-n-slide, t-ball, a small swimming pool and a sprinkler pool. The adults played with a cornhole set (proudly built by Papa who needs to go into business) and enjoyed chatting. Chris wins the father of the year award for grilling hot dogs and hamburgers in 100+ degree heat. Seriously, he does deserve some kind of award for that. And, no party of Kaleb's was complete without the presence of Elmo. He had an Elmo cake, plates, balloons, rings...you name it! The kid loves Elmo needless to say.
This is Kaleb lounging while mommy, daddy, BriAna, Poppy T, and Mimi ran around the yard getting things ready for guests. Did I mention previously that it was HOT! :-)
Kaleb in his perfect Elmo Birthday attire. I got him an Elmo Birthday Boy pin that he wore all of 5 minutes.
Here is Kaleb under his birthday sign. Aunt BriAna did a fabulous job on the decorations.
And, here Kaleb is being silly...and nearly falling.
Aunt Lana made Kaleb's birthday cake this year. Isn't it lovely!!!! Kaleb about wet himself when he saw it. (Actually, he might have...we are still potty training at 3). Lana did such a wonderful job and it was delicious too. This is her side business if you need a cake...just a little shout out!
Pics of our guests. Kingston, Savannah, Grandmother, and Ann.
View of the back patio. Remember this image because it is currently under construction!
Now this was the moment Kaleb was waiting for. We sang to him AND he got to eat cake! He's not happy at all...
Indulgence...
This year Kaleb asked for money towards his swing set that has been ordered. In addition to that, many of our family members and friends purchased Kaleb some sweet gifts. Mimi and Poppy T purchased Kaleb a penguin dreamlite. The child literally cannot sleep without having the penguin's design projected on his bedroom ceiling. He loves it. Not, to mention he is kind of in love with penguins lately. We watch Happy Feet on a daily basis.
Aunt BriAna purchased Kaleb an Elmo umbrella with her very own money. He loves it too. We walked the dogs as a family last night and Kaleb insisted on carrying it. It was not raining.
Nana and Papa purchased Kaleb an Elmo drum set. I know this is a trend, but he LOVES this too. He sits down and hits the sticks together while simultaneously counting to four, then proceeds to play drums. This happens numerous times a day.
Kaleb had a great party. We are thankful to our family and friends who were able to make it to celebrate 3 years of Kaleb's life. We are also thankful for our family and friends who could not make it but were thinking of him during his birthday. Chris and I are so thankful for Kaleb and his love for life. He has taught us more than he will ever know. I love those moments when I get him still enough to climb into my lap and snuggle In those moments, I thank the Lord for the gift of his sweet little life.
