Kaleb is officially dangerous in the water. He thinks he can swim without supports (ie. me or a pool tool). Today was the last day of swim lessons and he has learned a ton. He can get in and out of the pool safely, jump in off the side, go under water and hold his breath, and swim independently with a noodle. Go little dude! Today was a free swim day and he kept trying to detach from me to swim on his own...thus we had a little bit sinking and gagging. Towards the end of the lesson, his instructor placed herself about 5 feet from me and Kaleb was trying to swim between us. He put forth his best effort and sunk just a little (nose and mouth were under, but the top of his head stayed up). We pulled him up and he began gagging and sputtering and then wanted to do it all over again. What a bruiser. Kaleb did well during swim lessons this month. As a result, I know one thing for sure...we either need to put him through another round of lessons to make sure he can swim well, or I need to watch him like a hawk because he thinks he is a proficient swimmer. Oh, my Kaleb...you keep me on my toes.
Speaking of a bruiser. Kaleb took out the corner of our hallway providing him with the yuckiest little gash across his chin. Little dude loves to run full blast and sometimes he forgets to look where he is going. Well today he was dangling from the swing and fell off. He reopened the gash and added some skid marks above his lips and more on his chin. He really looks awful! Everywhere I go, people comment on how he is "all-boy." That he is!
